Applying for a rental
Apply for a property to rent, with or without an ImmoPass, follow your application and withdraw it.
The Apply for this property block is on the page of a property for rent, published by an agency and online. It does not exist for a property from a private seller, nor for a property under option.
What the agency can ask you
“The agency only receives what the law allows it to ask a prospective tenant in the property's region — nothing else.” The form therefore adapts to the property's region.
| Property's region | Form fields |
|---|---|
| Brussels and Flanders | Full name, E-mail address, Phone, Adults in the household, Children, Household monthly income (€) |
| Wallonia | the same, plus Current address, Date of birth, Marital status and the box “I can prove payment of my last three rents” |
- Required: the name, the email address and the monthly income. The other fields are marked “optional”.
- Income is the household's total net amount: “Nobody may ask you where it comes from.”
- Your nationality, your job and where your income comes from are never asked for.
Applying without an account
- On the property's page, fill in Apply for this property.
- Tick “I agree that this information is passed on to the agency to review my application. I can withdraw it at any time: it is then deleted.”
- Click Send my application.
Applying with your ImmoPass
If you have an ImmoPass (see ImmoPass and ImmoScore), you have nothing to type again.
- On the property's page, click Log in under “Have an ImmoPass? Log in to apply without typing anything again.”
- Read through the With your ImmoPass block: “This is exactly what the agency will receive.”
- If information is missing: “First complete your ImmoPass: …”. Click Complete my ImmoPass, fill it in, then come back to the property's page.
- Tick the consent box, then click Send my application.
What happens next
- The tracking page for your application opens.
- You receive the email “Your application has been sent”, with the link View or withdraw my application.
- The property's agent receives your application. Your file is stored encrypted.
- If the agency selects you: email “Your application has been selected”. The listing goes “under option” and the agency contacts you about the next steps.
- If it does not select you: email “Your application”, in neutral wording, with no reason, and with a link to other properties for rent.
For some properties, the owner selects the applicant, on the agency's proposal. The owner then sees neither your name nor your contact details: only the size of the household, the income, the rent-to-income ratio and whether you have viewed the property.

Following or withdrawing your application
Your applications are not listed in My account. Open the View or withdraw my application link in the email.
The Your application page gives the Property, the Agency, the date sent and the status:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| “Sent: the agency is reviewing it.” | The agency has not answered yet. |
| “Selected: the agency will contact you about the next steps.” | You are the selected applicant. |
| “Not selected for this property.” | The agency chose another applicant. |
| “Withdrawn: your data has been deleted.” | You withdrew your application. |
To withdraw an application that has been sent or selected:
- Click Withdraw my application.
- Confirm: “Your application and your data will be deleted. The agency will no longer see them.”
The message “Application withdrawn, your data has been deleted.” is shown. If you were the selected applicant, the listing goes back online.
